| Gosaikunda Trek (08 Days) |
 This magnificent trek combines the beauty of mountain scenery and the pleasure of meeting the Sherpas, whose kindness and hospitality is well renowned. This itinerary, through pine, oak and rhododendron forests, is less frequented than others, and will appeal to mountain lovers who want to get off the beaten track. The 8-day trek passes by the sacred lakes at Gosaikund and the Laurebina pass (4610m). The 7-day trek leads along both sides of the Melamchi Khola river and can also be done in winter. It is advisable to plan an extra day, which can be spent in Melamchi Gaon, a Sherpa village, which is sure to charm you. |

| Day to Day Itinerary |
Day - 01 |
Katmandu - Dhunche (1950m) by bus.
From Mulkharka (1890m) we can enjoy an extraordinary panoramic view over the Katmandu valley. Afterwards, the trail goes through fir tree and rhododendron forests |
Day - 02 |
Dhunche - Singompa (3350m) in 5h.
The trail winds its way up through rhododendrons and giant fir trees. |
Day - 03 |
Sin Gompa - Gosaikund (4380m) in 5h.
Through a rocky landscape and sparse bushes the trail follows two
glacial lakes before reaching the main lake -- Gosaikund. This site is a great pilgrimage for Hindus during August, when thousands come to bathe and make offerings. |
Day - 04 |
Gosaikund - Col de Laurebina (4610m) - Ghopte (3430m) in 5h
We climb out of the basin that houses the lakes for a while, on to the pass leading south. Then we descend through screes and moraines. |
Day - 05 |
Ghopte - Tharepati (3500m) - Melamchi Gaon (2530m) in 5h
A hard climb leads to the ridgeline of Tharepati. Afterwards we descend steeply primarily through rhododendrons. In spring the area is a mass of red flowers, dotted with white and pink. Melamchigaon is a picturesque Sherpa village and you will surely have long chats with its warm and welcoming villagers. |
